Tom Dundee
Chicago-based singer/songwriter and real nice guy Tom Dundee passed away on April 18, 2006. He belonged to the generation that included Steve Goodman, Fred and Ed Holstein, and Jim Post. I wish I could say he was one of my closest friends, but we only knew each other well enough that he called me by name whenever we went to see him in concert. And we were lucky enough to have shared a meal with him once after a gig. His death affected me more than I would have guessed.
Love doesn't die;
Love is like a river
Coming from the mountain above
Into the valley below.
You can try to change the way that it's going,
But you're never gonna keep it from flowing.
Love doesn't die.
Love doesn't die. -Tom Dundee
This is my tribute page to him, and here's where I'll post what I know about what's going on in connection with his memory.

This was a benefit concert at no profit to either the School or the performers.
It was an excellent concert, and it was only through blind luck that we were able to get tickets to it. If you missed it, there may be good news. The music, and maybe even a DVD, is planned to being made available in the Fall of 2006. Cross your fingers that this happens.
- A Tribute to Tom Dundee featuring Alice Stuart and Tom's Friends was held on Saturday, May 20th, 9 p.m., at the Heartland Cafe.
- Tom was scheduled to play for
the Off Square Music

They changed that to a tribute concert with Ed Holstein, Mick Scott, Chris Farrell,
Chris Walz, and others.
Thank you to Bob Kaplow for making me aware of this.
We went to this concert. The sad thing is that we had this date marked to go and see Tom then. It was another excellent concert. Norm Siegel was the "and others."
